The Partners of Greenfield Parks & Recreation, Inc. is an avenue for individuals to make a positive difference in public recreation within our City.
Annual Greenfield Parks & Recreation Awards Banquet - Honoring those who have gone"over and above" to enhance Parks and Recreation events, programs, and activities. The Partners have hosted this event since it's inception in 1991.
Spring Review (Bi-annual dance recital) - Participation includes the selling of carnations and clean up of the auditorium.
Flower Planting - We organize the purchase and planting of flowers at City owned parks.
Concessions at Konkel Park - The Partners provide concession staff at the Konkel Park Pavilion during the Greenfield High School Girl's Softball Games and Park and Recreation Department's Youth Soccer and Flag Football games. Profits from concessions have allowed the Partners to purchase equipment for the Konkel Park Pavilion.
Arbor day (April) - When Arbor day is held at a Greenfield city park, the Partners assist the Beautification Committee. Serving free coffee, water, and orange juice. The Partners allocate a portion of their fundraising efforts towards donating a tree to plant each year.
4th of July Celebration - In 2012, the Partners developed a sub-committee to obtain sponsors, licenses, insurance, parade participation and event entertainment for the City of Greenfield's annual 4th of July Celebration held at Konkel Park.
National Night Out - To promote and make aware of our organization's impact on the community; the Partners staff a Membership Drive booth.
Senior Picnic - The Partners volunteer their time to serve food and refreshments at this annual event.
Mini-Golf Invitational - Our largest fundraising event since 1994, the annual Mini-Golf Invitational is held on a Saturday in August at River Falls Family Fun Center. The intent of this event is to bring City departments, businesses, and organizations together in a fun competitive atmosphere.
Dedicate to Relocate - Co-sponsored by the Partners of Greenfield Parks & Recreation, Inc., in cooperation with the City Engineering Department. This program was developed by Jim Smrz, past-President of the Partners and received a Wisconsin Park & Recreation Association "Silver Star" Award. How the program works... if you have a healthy tree, between 10'-25' in height, that needs to be removed, please call us! We will evaluate if the tree(s) can be relocated and utilized within a city park. Relocation expenses will be assumed by the Department of Parks and Recreation; however, special recognition will be given to the persons who sponsor the entire or partial cost of tree relocation.
Walk In The Park - We provide walking leaders and donate event t-shirts and an item to promote a healthy lifestyle.
